Dear Dad

Dear Dad

Dear Dad.

A little girl sat on the lap of her Dad,
When he’d finished his cuppa & No6 fag.
He’d blow a big raspberry, under her chin,
Which ended in giggles, and a big, daddy grin.

On hot sunny days, a treat came, unplanned,
Home for tea; iced strawberry mivvis in hand.
Summers were long, and in winter’s thick snow,
We dragged wooden sledges, faces aglow.

The Daisy Chain

The Daisy Chain

The Daisy Chain

She skipped down the lane, in her silken, pink dress,
Quietly humming, her smile, effortless.
A spirit of innocence, as nature intends,
Her days full of wonder, where time never ends.

The noonday sun mirrored, on golden brown hair,
Ribbon-tied ringlets held high, in midair.
In rhythm, they bounced with her large, pink frock bow,
The crafted, bright flowers of the skirt, hung below.
